Can you make a glissando?

This week the children learned a new music term: glissando. We had a lot of fun playing with glissando sounds–continuous sliding movements from one pitch to another. A glissando can go up, down, or it can even alternate up and down! Experimenting with vocal glissandos can extend the vocal pitch range of both the singing and speaking voice and it can help develop vocal expressiveness.

Where can you hear glissandos? Firetrucks? Ambulances? Police Cars? How many different ways can you make a glissando?
