Trike-a-Thon

Mark you calendars now!!!! We’re going to have a trike-a-thon on Sunday, May 4th to benefit St. Jude’s Hospital.

This is going to be an amazing opportunity for children to have fun and to raise money for a really good cause.  There are a couple of reasons that I have decided to sponsor this trike-a-thon through our studio.  The first is that I know St. Jude is doing amazing things each and every day to help every sick child that walks through their doors regardless of money and/or insurance.  If my family ever needed St. Jude’s expertise, I want to make sure they are there ready to help.  The second reason is that my family was challenged at Christmas by my parents.  My siblings, I, and our spouses were given a challenge that began with $25.  We were asked to match this money and find a way to raise money for a good cause.  In June, our family is going to come together and share what we chose to do with our money, and even though we’re told it’s not a contest, you know how siblings are : )  So, Steve and I are on a mission to raise the most money for our charity!  And we need your help.

Now, I know some of our kiddos are not riding bikes yet, but have no fear, we have a plan.  You can participate by using a wagon or a stroller.  Older siblings that aren’t in Kindermusik any more?  No problem, we’d love to have them participate!  The trike-a-thon will be held at the Olathe Community of Christ Church (our old Kindermusik site).

There will also be incentives for money pledged such as $35 pledges receive a t-shirt.

Please plan now to attend our trike-a-thon and help raise money for such an important cause that any of us could need at any time.

I Love My Job!!!!!!

As I was leaving the studio tonight, I walked up the quiet stairs that had just held lots of little feet heading home after another fun-filled night in Kindermusik.  The glass door at the top of the stairs tends to fog up in this cold, cold weather.  And I’m sure you’ve all seen when glass doors fog up you can see every little mark that has been made on them.

So, as I get halfway up the stairs I look up and see at least 10 little hand prints about 2-3 feet off the ground.  It just struck me as this amazing moment where they pushed their way into the world armed with songs, dances, chants, and the love of their families.

Thank you for allowing me to work with your children each and every week.

Check out this website

In all of your spare time…don’t worry I’m laughing at my sarcasm, take a moment to visit this website.

This man has set up this website to work with the United Nations.  There will be a vocabulary word and four possible definitions.  For every word you get right, you will donate 20 grains of rice to the hungry.  Now 20 grains won’t quiet anyone’s hunger, but the more you play the more you donate.  You can play as long as you’d like and donate as much as you can.  Take a moment to help the world’s hungry, and you might just get a bit smarter in the process!

Thank you, thank you, thank you

Thank you to everyone who showered me with Christmas gifts!  It was so thoughtful of you and you are too, too kind.

It was very appreciated and reminds me once again that I have the BEST job in the world and have the most amazing kiddos and families in our studio.

It is a blessing to go to “work” everyday and know that I get to interact and engage with each of you.  Thank you for allowing me to work with your child and your family each week.
